Magazine Placement

The placement of magazines can help with the selling of them. The way in which magazines are placed on the shelf is crucial for their targeted audience.
If the magazines are aimed at kids below the age of 5/6 then having the magazines on the middle shelf out of the sight of the kids isn’t the best idea. The magazines should be at the right level for the age group or the people that they are trying to sell their magazines to.
Another way in which the placement of magazines is important is the way in which the colours are laid out, if all the bright colours are bunched next to each other and all the dull, dark colours are bunched next to each other than people would go for the brighter colours. If the magazines were mixed between bright colours and dark colours then there would be and equal purchase of bright and dark colours.

Having magazines that are different genres is also crucial, if the fishing magazines were mixed amongst the women’s magazines then people wouldn’t be able to find the magazines that they wanted. The magazines need to be sorted and organised so that anyone coming in to buy one would just find it and buy it instead of rummaging around trying to find one.
